Yoga Class Descriptions
Ashtanga - Is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
Bhakti Warrior: The purpose of yoga is to develop clarity so that we can achieve freedom from those things that make us suffer. In the tradition of the Bhagavad Gita, the God-man Krishna encourages his disciple Arjuna to develop clarity through two means: by following his warrior path and to surrender his heart to God. The Bhakti Warrior Yoga system encourages the development of these two qualities through the synergy of the tools of Raja and Hatha yoga with the insights of bhakti and other spiritual paths.
